Chicago decides that shooting back promotes longevity

Chicago’s suburbs just recently decided to repeal the city’s Handgun ban. Apparently someone noticed that the ban was not preventing local gangbangers from getting handguns and using them, to perform drive-bys, mug people, rob stores, fire on and kill local law enforment officals, hold at awkward angles, have as proof of “street cred” and of course blast the hell of out each other with. (and that the Supreme Court says handgun bans are unconstitutional any way…) Further more people then noticed that when fired upon it is very nice to be able to shoot back instead of crying in a corner pissing one’s self quietly. It is also very nice for people to introduce the friendly neighborhood punk with their associates Mr Smith and Mr Wesson when said punk whips out a switchblade and asks for your wallet. To ward off angry emails, did I just say shoot said punk? No I did not, I said pull a gun out on the little bastard. If that doesn’t teach him to drop his knife and go get a job at McDonalds eventually he’s obviously too stupid to be allowed to breed. Handgun/Weapons bans do several things and none of them are good for the populace at large. 1. In the event of an evil force coming to power in this country* ala Hitler’s Nazi Party in the 1930’s it leaves you completely with out ability to retaliate. For example the jews hitler hated so much? One of the first laws he passed disarmed them completely. When the jews did get their hands on some firearms they showed the Nazis the what for. (see The Warsaw Ghetto Uprising) so this policy of disarming the people your conquering/enslaving/exterminating/etc seems like a good idea and has incredible historic prescidence. Pretty much every downtrodden people wether a race, religion, or whatever else can be and has been oppressed has been denied weapons by the people doing the oppressing. Now moving on to a slightly more local level then mass oppression, genocide and world domination by men with a thing for calf-length heeled leather boots. 2. Banning handguns and concealed carry guarantees only one thing and it’s not safety, at least not for us. It makes the bad guys safe because it gives them an entired unarmed populace to prey upon. Your next response is “what about the police?”. Cops do not and have never prevented criminal acts from occuring. The exception is in the event of a tip off but that’s more stopping an act in progress then preventing an act from happening. What police officers do is clean up the mess after a crime has been commited, investigate the crime, and hopefully bring the “suspect” in for a trial, after which hopefully he’ll recieve some form of justice. Notice however that still leaves you up shit creek with out a paddle if your about to be mugged, or raped in an alley or someone just broke in to your home. Now I have succesfully pointed out the problem right? So what does help? Oh fuck! Having a goddamn gun helps! You can shoot the guy who just kicked your door in, the scum who wants your wallet or the creeper with the knife who has you backed in to a corner and just told you to take your pants off.

*No, George W. Bush and his administration are not an “evil empire” by any standard, calling George W a nazi or Hitler is alot like calling Barrack Obamah the messiah, they don’t rate the name until they start performing acts similer to what their being called. So unless Bush started up concentration camps for undesierable segments of the American populace** (such as gays and jews to continue with the liberal’s choice analogy of Hitler) fuck off, ditto Barrack until he starts raising people from the dead and turning water to wine.
**Notice that I said “American Populace” I really don’t give a fuck about those terrorist pricks interred at Gitmo
